Azo-free dyes are colourants made without the azo compounds that can release harmful aromatic amines. We print all our cotton with azo-free, water-based pigment dyes — better for the people who wear the cloth and for the water the workshop returns.
Why azo-free matters
- Safer on skin — no banned azo amines, so the cloth is gentle to wear next to the body.
- Gentler process — water-based pigments, hand-applied, with no heavy chemical fixing.
How we use them
Every block on our fabric, kaftans and sarongs is printed with azo-free colour. Pair them with organic or GOTS-certified cotton (available on request) for an even lighter footprint.
Caring for the colour
A little excess colour can rinse out on the first cold wash — that's normal; see is block print colourfast.
