Washing
- Hand wash, or use a gentle machine cycle, in cold water.
- Wash separately for the first few washes — a little excess colour can release at first.
- Mild detergent only; no bleach or harsh stain removers.
- Don't soak for long periods.
- Dry in shade, out of direct sun, to keep colours bright.
- Warm iron on the reverse while slightly damp.
The first wash
A little colour settling on the first wash or two is normal for hand-printed cotton and soon stops. After that, the cloth only softens with use.
Storage
Store clean and fully dry, away from direct sunlight. For pieces you keep for special occasions, folding with acid-free tissue avoids hard creases.
Repair & rewear
We would rather you mended and kept a piece than replaced it. Cotton takes beautifully to small repairs and visible mending, and block prints only improve with age. Stuck on a repair? Reach out and we will help — it is all part of how we think about textiles that last.
Frequently asked questions
Will the colours run?
A small amount of excess colour can release on the first wash — wash separately in cold water at first. It settles quickly.
Can I machine wash it?
Yes, on a gentle cold cycle. Hand washing is kindest for delicate or special pieces.
How should I iron it?
Warm iron on the reverse, ideally while slightly damp.
