Do I need to pre-wash it?

Yes — wash cold and separately before cutting, as natural cotton may shrink slightly and a little excess colour can rinse out on the first wash.

Description

Slim, hand-drawn stripes in a soft denim-leaning blue run across a warm ivory cotton ground. Look closely and you can see the wobble of the wood block — some stripes hold a darker bead of pigment, others pull thin where the block lifted — which is exactly what gives hand block printing its quiet rhythm. The cotton itself is 100% cotton at 44 inches wide, soft to the hand with a relaxed, slightly crinkled drape that softens further with every wash. We print this in small batches in our workshop using azo-free pigment dyes, so the colour stays gentle and the cloth stays breathable. It's the kind of yardage US, UK, and UAE sewists reach for when they want a quiet stripe — easy summer shirting, a tiered sundress, pillow covers for a coastal bedroom, or a stack of napkins for a long lunch table.
